Sophie Roberts Features in LBB Online's Uprising Series
Sophie at the launch of PLouise and Boots - Backlash 2026
We're excited to share that Sophie Roberts, Account Manager at Backlash, has been profiled by Little Black Book (LBB) as part of their Uprising series, which spotlights rising talent across the creative industry.
In the piece, Sophie talks candidly about her winding path into experiential marketing, from selling whisky and working in commercial projects for a faux flower company, to landing her first industry role at Millington, an old-school production house known for creating window displays and pop-ups for names like Harrods, Burberry, Cartier and Selfridges. There, she cut her teeth on everything from briefing projects to checking quality control on builds and prototypes, working hands-on alongside the makers themselves.
She reflects on her breakout project, a multi-window "Beauty Rollercoaster" installation at Harrods, and the lessons that experience taught her about production, pressure and pushing ideas further, lessons that continue to shape how she builds memorable brand experiences at Backlash today.
The interview also touches on her broader perspective on experiential marketing: that the strongest brand experience isn't about chasing something photogenic, but about creating moments audiences genuinely connect with and remember, especially as more of everyday life moves online.
