Brief.

Blank Street Coffee has strong credentials in delivering imaginative experiential activations for Gen Z & Young Millennials and the brand was looking to follow suit with another culturally leading pop up experience. The concept was inspired by an insight that 57% of Gen Z treat themselves to a small indulgence at least once a week.

Blank Street Coffee wanted to show that even life’s dullest tasks like postal returns can be elevated with a little reward. They turned to Backlash to bring this playful postal concept to life. The creative challenge: What would a post room look like if Blank Street Coffee ran it?

This was no typical high-street post office with slow queues, perspex screens and tired décor. Introducing the Blank Street Coffee ‘Post Room’, a fully functioning post office and experiential pop-up in the heart of London’s Soho that transformed the everyday drudgery of life’s tedious tasks into enjoyable errands.

The space invited guests to romanticise their life admin with a pop-up that was both beautifully branded and actually useful. Visitors could send or return parcels via Blank Street Coffee x InPost lockers, refresh their travel look at the passport photo booth, or pen a letter to their future selves.

Solution.

Blank Street Coffee, Post Room, Customers

Every detail was meticulously considered from the miniature rubber postal stamps and branded pens on chains to the stylised perspex counter screens and custom uniforms.

The Post Room was a full immersion into the Blank Street universe, where even the smallest touchpoints mattered and rewarded loyal fans with a moment of unexpected joy in the everyday.

Exclusive merchandise and bespoke Blank Street Coffee branded packaging added a layer of postal delight, making even an ASOS return feel elevated and shareable. While ticking off their to-do lists, guests enjoyed complimentary iced matchas and coffees, choosing from fan-favourite Banana Bread Matcha (back by popular demand), the Iced Day Dream Latte, or the signature Matcha Latte.
